📋 House Rules

We’ve rolled out two big improvements to make booking and browsing listings on mobile smoother and more informative.
🛎️ Mobile Booking Summary
- On mobile, you can now clearly see your selected dates, full price, and savingsbefore booking.
- Quickly adjust your dates without refreshing the page or going through the full “Book Now” flow.
- This makes booking on mobile faster, clearer, and more reliable.
ℹ️ Generic Listing Info Modal
- Listings now include a “Show More” buttonthat opens a modal with the full description and all amenities.
- This new modal is reusable and will soon include house rules, cancellation policies, and more detailsto help you make better booking decisions.

major update
with big improvements to our search, listings, and booking foundation — setting us up for Advanced Travel
in the near future. ✨ New Features & Improvements
- Future date support→ Dates selected in search now pass properly to listing pages (works with both flexible and exact dates).
- Brand new date pickers→ Updated components on both search and listing pages now show future dates (currently marked “Not bookable yet”) — laying the groundwork for full advanced travel booking.
- Rebuilt search API & map functionality→ Faster, cleaner, and less redundant loading. URL query parameters were also rebuilt for more consistent results across the app.
- Smarter location handling→ The “Where” section now correctly shows whether you searched for a location or moved the map.
🐞 Bug Fixes
- Fixed filters not retaining selections when reopening the modal.
- Fixed map double-loading and unnecessary extra API calls.
- Fixed searches snapping back to the original query instead of staying on current results.
- Fixed crash when zooming the map out too far (beyond -90° to 90°).
- Fixed double-load when changing filters mid-search.
- Fixed listings preview showing “5-day bubbles” again after moving the map with dates selected.
- Fixed map bug showing alllistings on first load or when switching to traveling.

⚡ This release is a huge step forward in speed, stability, and flexibility — and gets us much closer to
Advanced Travel
! We’ve updated our
cancellation policy
for last-minute stays to make it fairer for both guests and hosts. Previously, guests booking within the 5-day last-minute window could only cancel
within 1 hour
of booking. This was designed to protect hosts from shared Hostshare nights not being applied to their listing while blocking out their external calendars during that period. However, we found that this short window sometimes left guests stuck if a host didn’t respond quickly. After gathering feedback from our Hostshare Focus Group, the majority preferred a longer window — so we’ve extended it to
12 hours
. 
How It Works Now
- Guests booking within the 5-day last-minute windowcan cancel up to12 hours after bookingand receive a full refund.
- This gives guests more flexibility while still respecting host calendars.
- Hosts keep protection against very last-minute cancellations that could otherwise block their availability.
- Guests must still contact Hostshare Support to cancel a stay.
- If the request is within the 12-hour window, we’ll make sure it’s handled quickly and correctly.

Hostshare Cancellation Policy We’ve rolled out a batch of updates to make Hostshare smoother, clearer, and more user-friendly.
🆕 New Features
- No Pets Tag– Listings that don’t allow pets now display a clear “No Pets Allowed” tag.
- Mobile Share Button– Easily copy a listing URL from your phone to share with friends, guests, or support.
- Host Verification Name Lock– Once your ID is verified, your legal name can’t be edited from your account for security. Need a change? It’ll now open a chat with our support team.
🔄 Changes
- Clearer Language for Hosts– Updated “Add a Listing” to“Verify You’re a Host”across key pages to help onboarding. This dynamically changes if you already have a listing.
- Improved Date Selection View– When searching within the 5-day bookable window, your selected dates now appear indark green. The 5-day “bubble” style is now reserved for flexible searches only.
- Better Error Reporting– “Something Went Wrong” pages now include improved error info (and a toggle) so our team can diagnose and fix issues faster.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Clear Dates Fix– The “Clear Dates” button in the search date picker now works as expected.
- Correct Availability Labels– Fixed listings showing“Check Availability”when they should show“Not Bookable Yet.”
- PWA Menu Access– Fixed an issue where the top menu wasn’t accessible on first load due to the mobile CTA banner.
- Mobile Map Menu Bug– Fixed an issue where tapping the listings tab on the map sometimes triggered the menu behind it.
- Mobile Listing Image Tap– You can now tap directly on a listing image to open it—no extra clicks needed.

- Flexible Dates– Choose how many nights you want to stay within the next 5 days (great for last-minute trips!)
- Exact Dates– Dial in the exact dates you're looking for, whether they’re within the current booking window or beyond

⚙️ Under-the-Hood Improvements
- We've migrated our entire codebase and deployment pipeline to GitHub, streamlining our development cycle for faster updates and better reliability.
- Our backend is now running on horizontally scalable servers, which helps the app automatically scale with user demand — improving performance and uptime.

- Fixed a bug affecting the back button on Safariwhen navigating from the homepage.
- Re-enabled the ability to create listings via Airbnb URL—this option is now visible again!
- Removed the 30-night capon max shared nights to allow more balanced contributions and encourage quality travel matches.

- Additional Booking Notifications:Hosts can now add up to 5 additional email addresses to receive booking notifications—perfect for Property Managers and support teams. You can manage these from theManagementtab on your listing.
- Improved Booking Flow:Guest count and pet filters selected from the map now carry over to the listing page, making the booking process smoother and faster.
🐞 Bug Fixes
- Fixed filter bugs that occasionally showed incorrect results on the travel landing page.
- “Get Hostshare App” button from the mobile menu was unresponsive and fixed that.
- Fixed a bug where messages were displaying the wrong user details (host vs. guest).

- Button height adjustments for better mobile experience on the special offer modal.
