Hostshare is excited to announce a series of updates aimed at optimizing our platform’s performance and enhancing the booking experience for both hosts and guests. These updates focus on improving map functionality, communication tools, and booking transparency.
What’s New:
Enhanced Map Loading and Searching:
- We’ve significantly improved the map loading and searching performance by eliminating redundant data loading, modifying the refresh rate of the map, and removing the green loader at the top of the page. These changes ensure a smoother and faster user experience when searching for properties.
5-Day Availability Bubbles on Listing Cards:
- To provide a consistent and informative view, we've added 5-day availability bubbles directly onto the listing cards, mirroring the availability indicators already present on the map. This feature allows users to quickly assess the availability of a listing without needing to navigate away from the search results page.

Quick Contact Options Post-Booking:
- We've added functionality to copy the email and phone details on both the host and guest sides, enabling quick and easy contact after a booking is confirmed. This enhancement supports better communication between parties, streamlining the interaction process.

Enhanced Transparency for Instant Bookings:
- In an effort to maintain transparency and set accurate expectations, we have added warnings and additional information regarding instant bookings. New communications outline the current success rates and potential issues that could arise, ensuring guests are well-informed before and after making a booking. Additional messages are sent at critical points to reassure guests that we are actively working to confirm their booking or assist in finding alternative accommodations if necessary.
Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed a bug that allowed users to delete calendars even though they should be restricted from doing so to prevent double bookings.
  • Added support for a new calendar .ics link that checks the content disposition for ics file as a fallback
